Here is another idea for parents to destress!
GIVE LOVE! Give love in everything you do! Especially to your children. One thing I noticed about parents, who seem stressed, is they are on their child's/children's case over very, very minor things. Now, I am talking about family, friends, and total strangers in public. What I notice is anger, irritability, and sweating the small stuff. I don't really know the whole story but I do know that anger, irritability, and sweating the small stuff is a habit just like giving love is and can be a habit. What happens when you change these negative emotions into a positive one, like love, is the parent feels better about themselves and they teach their child how to love. This in turn will assist your child/children to feel better about themselves and all kinds of positive outcomes will follow like better behavior at home and at school. If you are angry and irritable, especially when under stress, look back at who raised you. Was that person, your primary caregiver, angry or irritable too? If so, you may have learned that habit from them. Emotional states are much of habits, I know because my emotional state is very playful and loving. That statement may seem like I am bragging but it is true. You can ask anyone who knows me now, I am the happiest person they know. Of course, it didn't use to always be that way but I don't wanna get into that, lol. Back to giving love! In order to give love you have to have love in your mind and emotions more often. One way to do this is to be grateful for all you have especially your children. There is so much to be grateful for. Every morning I get up, the first thing I think is how grateful I am for my bed. Oh boy do I love my bed. It is cozy, soft, and warm. I get up every morning grateful for all I have. The first thing I do is get down on my knees, next to the bed I love, and thank Heavenly Father for all that I have. This takes a long time because I am truly grateful for His love, my family, my friends, and the list goes on and on. This state of gratitude fills my soul with joy. If you choose to live your life focusing on what you are grateful for you choose to live your life full of love. The emotions of gratitude and love are very similar. Another way you can feel love more often is to consciously think and feel love when you are spending time with and talking to your child, your family, and your friends. When you feel love you feel good. When you feel anger you feel bad. Take the time to replace the anger (or any negative emotion you have) with the habit of feeling gratitude and love. If you are stressed out you are not enjoying life and if you learn to replace that stress with love and gratitude by giving it and making it a habit, I promise you will enjoy life. Try it! Try to consciously hold gratitude and love in your mind and emotions as often and as long as you can and I promise that you will be so happy you did. See how long it lasts and when it disappears or dissipates, come back to this post and read it again. Parents! Give love!!! I know this will increase your happiness, energy, and vitality for life! Have a super duper week and don't forget to have fun and be playful! ElizabethSearch This Blog

HOW CAN PARENTS DESTRESS?
Parents can have high levels of stress especially when they have a child with special needs or a child with a diagnosis. Parents can also have high levels of stress by filling their schedule to a point that there is not enough time in the day to do all that is asked of them. Another stress for parents is having super duper high expectations for themselves and their children.
With all the stress that parents deal with, asking how they can destress is a very valid question. The number one way parents can destress is through prevention. Preventing stress is a tall order and it really just takes a little pro-action. Stress prevention is preparing yourself for what is to come. So, how does one prepare? We can prepare by taking care of ourselves. We can take care of ourselves emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually. How do we take care of ourselves emotionally? We learn how to be happy. Sounds silly, I know, but many people, especially parents, have the habit of anger or irritation over the smallest things. One of the best ways to learn to be happy is to focus on all that you love and all that is great in your life. A very bad habit that people have learned from their own parents is focusing on the negative. Children do a thousand things right, all day long, and if they do one or two things wrong it is focused on. For example, if a child gets, lets say, 3 A's and 3 C's on a report card, the parent may focus on the C's and how they can make the C's, A's. What really should be done, to help the child empower themselves and develop the habit of focusing on the good, is parents should magnify the A's. In other words celebrate them even if the C's are F's. If children do a thousand things right all day then parents should compliment them at least one hundred times. Complimenting a child, just a couple times a day, would make that child very confident and happy. A confident and happy child makes a happy parent. Pretty cool, eh? How do we take care of ourselves mentally? We think good thoughts. Have you ever heard the term auto-pilot? Well, many people have their minds on auto-pilot and what that does is it allows us to think randomly. When we think randomly we may think about what we don't have and how we are not what we want to be, which is very human of us. What kind of good thoughts can we think? We can think of all of the blessings we have in our lives. If I were to tell you a story about a woman who lost all four of her children, one at a time, you would think how lucky you are to have all of your children. Guess what? It is not necessary to hear a sad story of a woman who lost her children tragically in order to know how lucky we are to be able to hug and kiss our kids everyday. How can we take care of ourselves physically? Eating right, getting plenty of rest, and exercising is the way we take care of ourselves physically. This small, but very important, list will help us create energy, and it takes energy to manage stress. How do we take care of ourselves spiritually? We fill ourselves with the love of God and we fill ourselves with loving others. This can be done everyday. Going to church really helps to refill us spiritually too. If I miss going to church just one Sunday, boy I feel it. So, how can parents destress? Here is your list of stress prevention, in short. Take care of yourself emotionally by learning to be happy, all the time. TOTALLY POSSIBLE! Take care of yourself mentally by thinking good thoughts, all the time. TOTALLY POSSIBLE! Take care of yourself physically by eating right, exercising, and getting plenty of rest. TOTALLY POSSIBLE! Take care of yourself spiritually by filling yourself with the love of God and loving others. TOTALLY POSSIBLE! I believe this because I live it and I know that it is TOTALLY POSSIBLE! You can do it! You have the power all you have to do is think you can. Have a great week and don't forget to have fun and be playful. ElizabethThursday, October 14, 2010
HOW DO WE CREATE FAITH IN OURSELVES?
HOW DO WE CREATE FAITH IN OURSELVES?
Excellent question! How do we create faith in ourselves? The answer? Destress Yourself!
Faith is the confident belief or trust in something. I just blurted that meaning out of my head, lol. It is true, isn't it? Faith is the confident belief or trust in something... I like that. If you have a lot of stress, stress at work, stress at home, stress with finances, stress in your relationships, or just difficulty coping with stress, chances are you do not have faith. When I say faith, I mean faith in yourself, faith that things will be okay, or faith that you can handle your stress. What is stress? Stress is the consequences of our thoughts of doubt, fear, and worry. Therefore, the opposite of stress is our consequences from our thoughts of faith or the confident belief or trust in something. Let me just clarify that I am, in a general sense, talking about negative, everyday stress, which is distress. Although, this can apply to eustress, as well, which is positive stress. But, I am not speaking about cumulative stress (burnout), or critical (incident) stress, at this time. With that said, if you have stress, chances are you have doubt, fear, and worry. Stress at work is caused by thoughts of doubt, fear, and worry about work. Stress at home is caused by doubt, fear, worry about home. Stress with finances is caused by doubt, fear, and worry about finances. Stress in relationships is caused by doubt, fear, and worry about relationships. GET THE PICTURE??? Difficulty coping with stress is caused by a habit of doubt, fear, and worry about outcomes. We can eliminate this habit by creating a habit of focusing on solutions, making these solutions our goals, and focusing on obtaining these goals. How do we create faith in ourselves? We create faith in ourselves by discovering what we want out of life, what our purpose is, and living what we want and living our purpose. For example, I want to enjoy life (this has many meanings to me but I will save it for another post) and my purpose is to help create happiness, energy, and vitality by teaching people to find joy in their lives (destress yourself). If you do not know what you want or what your purpose is you can find out through my program on 'HOW TO DESTRESS YOURSELF.' Living with what we want is not a destination, it is a journey. Therefore, we are constantly moving towards what we want by living our purpose. We can create faith in ourselves by finding out what we want, finding out our purpose, and setting goals to constantly obtain this. If you are living in the constant state of going nowhere, doing the same ole thing, living the same ole life, then you are not creating faith in yourself. But, by moving forward, in life, setting your goals, having a vision, and living your purpose, faith in yourself will come naturally because of the great accomplishments you will make. Right now, I know a lot of people who are out of work and they are not doing anything about it. It is sad really. If I had a lot of time on my hands, I would be working on the things I want out of life and if I didn't know what I wanted, I would spend all of my time searching. It doesn't take money, it only takes the internet. Google it! Take a moment and look back one year ago, three years ago, or even five years ago. Are you doing the same ole thing or are you moving forward in life? Discover what you want out of life, move towards it, and live it! That, my friend is how we create faith! Discover your purpose, move towards it, and live it! That will create faith! Set goals towards what you want, using your purpose, and keep moving forward, everyday! That will create faith! You can do it! You got the power to be, do, have anything you want, you just have to think you can! That my friend, is faith. Have a great weekend!!! Until next post... Don't forget to have fun and be playful! ElizabethThursday, September 23, 2010

MY OPINION ABOUT ANGER
This is my opinion about Destress and Anger Less...
There are a lot of angry people out there in the world and there are a lot of happy people who loose control of their emotions and burst out in anger.
I am of the thought of, we often have the right to be angry but, we do not have the right to go off.
When people get angry and go off, often times they are aware and feel apologetic after wards. But, there are those people who go off by yelling or being rude and they are totally unaware that it is not okay to go off on people.
IT IS NOT OKAY TO GO OFF ON PEOPLE! I don't care where you were raised or who you were raised by, it is inappropriate and unacceptable. If you have a boss or a spouse that goes off on you, I am telling you right now, it is not okay.
If you are a person who goes off on others, I am telling you right now, it is not okay. It is unacceptable and inappropriate.
If you are a person who goes off on others, get help! Get help, right now!
If you are an angry person, it may not be easy to learn to control your anger, at first, but it is totally possible. I have met many a people who were very angry, moody, and irritable that have overcome their anger. I know that it is possible.
If you are an angry person, guess what? People do not want to be around you. If people hang around you, it is not for long, and it won't be for long.
Learning to destress and anger less is up to you and it is totally possible. Don't just learn to manage your anger for others, do it for yourself. If you do it for yourself, you will develop a much richer life. You will develop happiness, energy, and vitality.
This is my opinion...
If you go off, it is not okay. If you are angry, it is not okay. If you are angry, you are hurting yourself by increasing your stress and decreasing the people that want to be around you.
If you are angry, seek help and seek it now.

DESTRESS AND ANGER LESS
Well, have you set a specific goal yet? Have you made a New Years Resolution?
The goal would be to manage anger, right? So then the next step is to choose a specific plan. Will you find an anger management expert? You could always go to the book store and get the most recent best seller anger management book. Another option would be to see a Therapist or your Doctor and get prescription medication that will mellow you out some. Some other options would be hypnotherapy or subliminal cd's. Maybe you can google "managing anger," in order to do more research.
Anger and irritability is a very stressful habit and in order to manage you must choose a plan. Things to consider, to add to your plan, would be goals to manage your stress, learn to relax, feel more gratitude, feel more love, or just release worry.
Some really good goals you may consider are to exercise more, eat right, get healthier, sleep better, improve your relationships, or get another job or career.
Any of these suggestions will help the process.
Maybe you would like a bigger goal. When I think of big goals I think of creating your dream life. When we create our dream life I like to say we are making our own miracles. The reason I call them miracles is because when we think about our dream life we always wish and think, “some day.” But if you dream and then evolve your thoughts, feelings, and actions, towards creating and then living your dream life it is a miracle.
The reason it is a miracle is because when we just dream, we don’t believe it is possible, and when it comes true, it is a miracle. A miracle because we didn’t believe it would ever happen and it is happening.
If you plan a bigger dream it will assist in keeping your mind towards happiness and joy. In other words, it will give you something else to focus on, make you feel better about yourself because you are moving forward in life, and it will occupy your time.
This is my hope for you. My hope is that you will dream, dream big, make it specific, and then I will help you evolve your thoughts, feelings, and actions so that you may create your miracle. Evolve your thoughts into believing that it is possible, evolve your feelings into faith in yourself, and then evolve your actions to move towards your miracle while increasing your speed out of enthusiasm.
I know the power you have within you. I know because I have seen it over and over, time and time again. I have seen extremely stressed out people manage their anger, become destressed, and create their own miracles.
Now, dream big, make it specific, and let us embark on a journey of making miracles. You can do it! Right now! Write it down and make it specific. This is going to be awesome!

Let us begin the process of Destress Yourself.
What does it mean to Destress Yourself? It means to discover stressful habits and turn them into successful practices. One thing we didn't learn in school, when we were growing up, is what stressful habits are and how to manage them.
What are stressful habits? They are habitual thoughts of doubt, fear, and worry. These habitual thoughts, that have been created as we get older, create feelings of doubt, fear, and worry. When we have habitual thoughts and feelings like this we tend to limit our actions in life. This causes stress.
For example, if you have the thought that you cannot control your anger because you have tried and nothing has worked, then you may feel hopeless and therefore, end your journey of trying to decrease your anger.
Another example is, if I tell you to dream about the life you would love to live and you have thoughts of doubt that you will not be able to obtain this life then you may feel discouraged and therefore, not take actions to set and obtain these goals.
Destressing Yourself is evolving your thoughts, feelings, and actions to create confidence, faith, and hope, which will decrease your stress and increase your happiness because you are moving forward in life.
So what is Your Miracle? It is a dream life you believe you will never obtain and then obtaining and living it.
You want a Miracle? Then dream big about a life that you would love to live. Don't worry about believing it yet because that is what we will do as we destress. We will create faith in ourselves and others by eliminating doubt.
Think of your Miracle, your dream life. Dream it and dream big. Write it down and get ready to move towards it.
Anger management is a funny phrase to me. I don't know why it just is. The phrase I would choose is, "anger elimination." Don't get me wrong, I believe that it is okay to get angry but it is not okay to go off on someone.
Therefore, if we use, "anger elimination," instead of anger management, we are removing the anger that we show externally rather than managing it.
What I am saying is, it is okay to get angry but, when we recognize it internally, in our thoughts, that is the best place to eliminate it. If that sounds silly to you, let me know, give me a comment.
The thing about it is, that is what I do, well, sometimes. I don't know why but total strangers, no matter what they do, don't get me angry. People I know, from work or social places, don't get me angry. But the one and only people that can get me angry are my loved ones.
Maybe, I expect more from them.
Writing this blog is an opportunity for me to look at my anger and it's elimination. Join me in eliminating our anger together.
Here are some suggestions:
1. Take responsibility for your thoughts about anger, recognizing that it is not okay to go off on anyone.
2. Change your mind by knowing and having faith that you can eliminate your anger.
3. Learn deep relaxation and/or meditation skills and techniques, so that you may decrease your anger at anytime and anywhere.
4. Seek professional help if you are violent or you are not getting better at anger elimination.
5. Speak to your Private Medical Physician to make sure everything is okay medically.
6. Know that you are the only thinker of your thoughts therefore, you can find total control of your thoughts which in turn creates your feelings.
7. Create your own thoughts (grateful, positive, and good ones), so that you create your feelings, and have fun and be playful. If you do not know how, then learn.
YOU GOT THE POWER!
